life easier at the expense of the user.  Alas, they missed the other
Unix tradition, that of enabling abstruse shortcuts everywhere; XML
lacks SGML's l33t tag-minimization tricks, such as "<foo/blah blah/",
"<foo>bork bork bork</>" and "<foo>boo hoo</foo> <>another foo
element</>".
