Yes.  Tim May has used the closer example of the Xerox machine ---whose only
purpose, (short of copying butt-prints after hours), is copying copyrighted 
material [1]!  Especially considering their placement in libraries.

[1] everything ever xeroxed is copyrighted by its author, who may or may not
permit copying in that instance.

Layfolks understand Xerox machines and/vs. copyrighting methinks.
