Got that straight.

Marketing departments in the IT field (and moreso, the companies that 
employ them) haven't faced the reality that people aren't merely 
information consumers -- we are all, and have always been, information 
producers.

Information is used to produce information.  That's what our computers 
are for.  You can try to implement a consumer appliance (like an eBook 
reader) on a computer, but it isn't going to fly for long.
