10:00 - 12:00 CH Ting --- the MicroConverter ADuC702x from Analog Devices
ADuC702x is the latest micro-controller from Analog Devices. It has an ARM7
core, with a ton of peripherals, including 8 ADC, 4 DAC, 32 KBytes of flash
memory, 8 KBytes of RAM, UART, SPI, GPIO, PWM, etc. I am in the process of
porting my ARM eForth to it, and I hope to show the results in the August
21 meeting. It is interesting that Analog Devices put so many ADC and DAC
around it. It eases greatly tasks in instrumentation and automation.

1:20 - 2:20 Dave Jaffe --- Driving Simulator for Rehab
Dave will introduce the Driving Simulator procured by VA-Rehab R&D and tell
us his plans for its use in his research. The device is a sophisticated
through-the-windshield image generator and is intended to be programmed by
the end user in TCL.
This is intended as the forerunner of a longer talk.

2:20 - 3:00 Break for standards-compliant networking (or maybe not if

3:00 - 4:00 Ed Thelen --- The Nike Missile
Ed has been involved in several ways with the Nike Missile System for
many years. He defended an unnamed midwest city during the Cold War and
later helped to restore SF88, the Nike Site on the far side of the Golden
Gate Bridge. He currently runs a Nike Missile Website here
http://www.ed-thelen.org/
Ed will describe the Nike System including an overview of the process
of engaging and launching against a target. He'll also talk a little about
the restoration of SF88.
Ed is the grandfather of Mippy (he's Randy's father). He is not
permitted to confirm nor deny the presence nor absence of nuclear weapons.
