>> [GM]
>> The creature laughs. "Your friend Ted Smythe is dying. Little by
>> little, bit by bit. But I have the knowledge to heal him, truly
>> heal him, not just concoct some druid's potion to give the
>> illusion of health. More I will not say, lest you leave me here. I
>> will bargain my freedom for Ted Smythe's life. Besides, he can
>> prevent my flight or the use of my powers. He has the
>> D'kuram-roetha."
>> [/GM]

>> [Louissa]
>> Looking away from the hideous thing, she asks "What is this
>> D'kuram-roetha?"
>> [/Louissa]

>> [GM]
>> "Don't worry your little head off about that, Lady Louissa of New
>> Poughkeepsie." the creature says. "Worry about Ted Smythe."
>> [/GM]

>> [Louissa]
>> "Well, I vote to bring it along, as long as Ted can control it."
>> she says finally.
>> [/Louissa]

> [Justin]
> "Freeing it is likely to be a very bad idea. If it cannot free
> itself, and it cannot summon aid, then the prison is still secure.
> That prison may well be the only thing keeping it from taking all of
> our minds over, given that even through the prison, it is reading our
> thoughts. As for its claims? Demons lie, and the Old Ones taught them
> how. Be very careful when bargaining with either, particularly about
> any claims they make. Every mortal creature is dying from the moment
> of birth, it's the one certainty to a mortal life. But anything an
> Old One can do to a mortal to prevent that is always the most vile of
> corruptions. Some fates are worse than death."
> [/Justin]

[Louissa]
"I think you're speaking wisely, Sir Justin." the young woman says.
"Maybe it knows something, but at what price would we learn the answer."
[/Louissa]

> [Ted]
> D'kuram-roetha, the lizard man mouths. He has no idea what the
> stranger spoke of.
> [/Ted]

[Koba]
A moment of recognition comes across Koba's face. "Ted," he says, "did
you find an iron ring on or near that Elf, Arsendel? That's the
D'kuram-roetha, a ring or other amulet that is used to summon and bind
demons. That's how he managed to summon that one that attacked us."

"I still think it's a bad idea to free this one, though."
[/Koba]

[Carlos]
"I vote against release too." Carlos says.
[/Carlos]

[Owen]
"As do I, now." Owen votes as well. "The dwarf said this place held
evils, and I'll bet this was one of them."
[/Owen]

[GM]
Everyone's radios receive a message, full of static, but recognizably
Alex. "Found Osiris. Unfortunately ---- ---- passed beyond the world."
[/GM]

[Louissa]
"I think we need to go meet up with Alex and the ice lady." she says.
She turns to Ted. "Well, you know what the rest of us think. Your
call, if you think you can control it."
[/Louissa]

[GM]
At that moment, they hear cries of fear from the main cavern. The
creature begins to laugh even louder. "It seems those knights have
discovered one of the other evils the dwarves keep here. Maybe I can
stop it, or maybe you can all die trying to get out!"
[/GM]
