>> [GM]
>> Keldon's eye blinks, and for a moment the odd store owner says nothing.
>>
>> "It is a device of supreme revulsion, to be sure." Keldon says. "But
>> aside from the horror of the thing, it is insanely valuable. I will be
>> perfectly honest with you. I do not have funds sufficient to pay for
>> it. I could give you perhaps three hundred thousand credits, perhaps
>> that again in other items. But I am an honest broker, and I will tell
>> you now that I would turn around sell this to the Archbishop for
>> twenty times that price. If I were brave enough to venture to New
>> Camelot or the New German Republic, I might be able to double that."
>>
>> "Let me make a proposal, sir and madam." Keldon says. "I could
>> introduce you to the Archbishop, which is something the average fellow
>> with a Splugorth Staff of Eylor might have a problem not being
>> arrested on the spot. We can negotiate a sale and my fee will be fifteen
>> percent of the sale price, as a finder's and broker's fee. In the
>> meantime, I will open a line of credit with you and your lady for,
>> say, five hundred thousand credits?"

> [Vesper]
> "What do you think Alex ? I would be alright with that."
> [/Vesper]

> [Alex]
> "I don't know how much such a staff is worth. Never had any real dealing
> with magic items prior to this." the red headed scout responds.
>
> "As far as the cosmetics, they sound interesting but I don't want every
> guy to be groveling at me feet," she continues, although her voice is a
> bit teasing at the last comment.
> [/Alex]

[GM]
Keldon smiles. "You do not have to wear it all the time. I know many
who wear them only when... well, how shall I say it... when
necessary."
[/GM]

> [Alex]
> In a more serious done, "Fifteen percent does sound a bit steep."
> [/Alex]

> [Vesper]
> "I suppose though he could have simply accepted it as trade for much
> less value. We can at least see what this archbishop would offer. You
> have a point about the percent though how about ten ?"
> [/Vesper]

[GM]
Keldon thinks for a moment. "Very well." he says. "Ten percent. I
suppose one should not get too greedy. I cannot say if the Archbishop
will be interested, though I know his fondness for mystical trinkets
and weapons, and indeed, he is the only person for many a long mile
that could pay what you asked."

Keldon turns to his squiddish sons. "Alright lads. I'm taking these
fine folks to see the Archbishop. Might as well lock the shop up."

With that Keldon scurries to a coat rack, grabs a multi-sleaved
sweater and pops it and a wide-brimmed cap on. "You coming?" he asks
Alex and Vesper.
[/GM]
