As Alex waits for her guides to catch up, the source of the crunching
sound comes into sight. It's a four legged, four armed bot. At the end
of its legs and arms are "feet" and "hands" with four digits. Alex can
spot at least one laser cannon in each appendage, though the bot looks
rather old and scarred, and it is possible that some of the lasers may
no longer function.

A very fuzzy voice, sounding not unlike the sound from a blown speaker
says, cracklingly, "Immediately surrender and prepare for detainment
and processing. Any movement will be viewed as hostile, as per
Ordinance 45-A. Please direct all complaints to the Office of National
Security." It then repeats the message as it raises two of its arms
(the other two seem to jerk a little but otherwise do not move).
