The others seem to know enough to keep their distance from Alex, and
she's able to get within sight of Ted.

And she's greeted by quite a scene. There are two Teds, one of them as
a cybernetic arm and a large broadsword with glowing runes. The other
Ted looks like the Ted Alex knows. There is a little boy standing
behind the normal-looking Ted, and the corpse of another little boy
that looks identical to the standing boy. None of them have seen her
yet.
