[Taocow PBEM] [Ted and Oz] Book 3 - Chapter XVIII

While Oz is conversing with the ley line ship, Ted quickly finds the 
inventory of loading equipment; forklifts, cranes, and hover-lifts, all 
meant to allow the ship to be able to load and unload, even in a port 
without the facilities necessary to load and unload cargo. In fact, the 
hover-lifts look most promising, though the range is pretty short; no 
more than about two miles without recharging. They're meant more to lift 
heavy cargo than go any distance.

Far below in the hold Oz and Ted can see Vesper and Alex making their 
way through the hold, vast great stacks of shipping containers, over 
broken crates, with a hover trolley holding repair equipment. They 
disappear behind some shipping containers, and if the damage sensor 
system is correct, they should be at the main hull breach.

And that's when Oz and Ted see a bright flash; yellowish-red, not more 
than ten feet from Alex and Ted's last seen position. It comes and goes 
very quickly, but almost seemed like a flame. There's nothing showing up 
on the ship's sensors.
