Rail gun fire can be heard, but the shots seem to hit several<br>>> feet away, the space-altering nature of the mist making ranged weapons<br>>> fire almost useless.<br>>><br>>> And then there's a subtle shift in the air, almost like a stiff<br>>> breeze, though the mist remains all around them. and then, in a dome of clear fog-less air, they see a tall<br>>> spire of black rock. It looks like it has been melted, almost like a<br>>> candle. A narrow stairway leads up towards the top, though the top of<br>>> the spire cannot be seen. What can be seen dimly are great swirling<br>>> gouts of mist pouring forth and spreading overhead.<br>>><br>>> Vesper's keen dimensional senses know this to be a substantial<br>>> dimensional anomaly, and there's a vibration in the air, as if some<br>>> power is being built up.<br>>><br>>> Behind them the pursuing ATV can now be clearly heard.<br>>> [/GM]<br><br>> [Alex]<br>> "I am not getting any radio contact from anyone else," Alex states<br>> [/Alex]<br><br>[GM]<br>Indeed, Alex is finding the interference even worse as they approach the tower.<br>[/GM]<br><br>> [Vesper]<br>> "That tower, I am sensing building dimensional
energies about it possible<br>> a rift about to open. Whatever is happening with the energy it is charging<br>> up now."<br>> [/Vesper]<br><br>> [Ted]<br>> ~Is it my imagination or does that tower look familiar?~ the lizard man<br>> asked the others telepathically while scanning the structure for potential<br>> dangers.<br>> [/Ted]<br><br>> [Vesper]<br>> "Yes reminds me of the one that was blown up as we needed to leave."<br>> Vesper studies the structure more to see if it is indeed the same.<br>> [/Vesper]<br><br>[GM]<br>The tower looks similar, though perhaps not quite the same. There are<br>no windows, but there is a very narrow winding staircase and now that<br>they are underneath it, they can see what looks like a platform high<br>above.<br><br>Vesper senses the dimensional distortion reach its maximum. Indeed<br>there seems to be something appearing in the fog, like a small dark<br>region. For an instant it
looks as if something, or perhaps two<br>somethings, fall out of the darker region on to the platform above<br>with a distant but distinct "thud". And then, the dimensional<br>distortion has faded away into the already existing dimensional<br>oddities of this fog.<br><br>The other ATV again opens fire.
