I'm homeless.
It's crazy. I have a grand wad o' cash in my checking account (easily
triple what I've had before) and a grand job... loans ready to come in..
destitute parents... the whole bit.
Yet try as I might I can't find a proper vacancy in San Francisco.
Today I got a lead on a place. I called it. "Wow, that was fast!" she
says.
I was the first to call. updates come on Monday when I meet the ladies
in person.

It's a social form of homelessness, really. It's a Great Gatsby-meets-Jack
Kerouac kind of homelessness (watch me try and glamourize it!)
I'll mooch and contribute until I have my own bed. It works.

Yeah. I dunno. People asked me "So, what's up with that place you were
looking at?" and I said "oh, I'm homeless".
So they laughed.

Well, I just got back from looking at a nice two bedroom place. The guy there
was really cool, had a CS degree, and said he liked me better than the couple
that came before me.
He also had a broken foot and his room reeked of incense.
Now I'm going down the coast to have a picnic.
I still want to build a bypass.

although i'm sure i have already mentioned this, i have indeed found myself a
place for next year. and i have vowed that for THIS year, i will *not* put up
with a roomate. i will be too damn busy to put up with someone else's crapola
for a year...thereforse, at the end of this month i am moving into a charming
(read: small) studio on the other side of campus. it's more than i should be
paying ($385) but man...it has a DISHWASHER. and a garbage disposal. and a
deck. and it's not a shitbox like my current place, where i have gotten
trapped in my room twice and in my apartment once, thanks to crappy
locks/doorknobs. with hot water paid, to sweeten the deal, how could i resist?
(this is all building up to something. i want you to send me random
mail when i move.)
as of sept. 1, please send all letter bombs, plastic thongs (the
footgear, you perv!) and really really ugly cats to 2303 taylor ave. #12,
bellingham, wa, 98225. please, don't make me call up the phone company o tell
them how happy i was to get their lovely, charming, heartfelt bill.
