I've been looking through the chickmagnet.org archives -- most of
which are _way_ before my time.  The archives are mostly old phone
numbers on scraps of paper, some of them in the old style with two
letters for the exchange instead of the number.  (People had better
handwriting back then.)  I don't even have a location for any of the
historic chickmagnet.org locations, pre-St. Francis Place, but an old
San Francisco exchange map might give me a clue.

When poring through the incomprehensible stuff gets too tiring, there
are some great party invitations from 1959-1962 -- one of the former
residents was an ad man named Bob who sweet-talked one of his firm's
graphic artists into doing some very eye-catching layouts.  (She ended
up marrying someone else and moving back to Connecticut, though.)
