When I picked him up originally at SFO airport (Tuesday), he mentioned

Cynicism is a fine and noble thing, and I don't want to discourage
it. On the other hand, I _would_ remind you that this is probably
the greatest programmer alive, and a man who did a great deal to
rekindle the notion of open source (er, "free") software when the
concept was moribund.
At the minimum, the man has earned many times over the right to
be listened to attentively. Reflect on what he says fairly, and
laugh at the end if you want.
