OK, everyone open up your hyperiffic hotweb browser-java
wotzits and have a look at
http://slashdot.org/articles/98/12/16/1713249.shtml

Now, those of us who were there when Jamie made the talk know
that this is based on one offhand comment he made in response to a
rather oblivious question. He was stressing the fact that mozilla is
owned by everyone now, and that the recent merger with AOL allowed him
to stress this. As an anecdote, he mentioned that Netscape _at one
time_ was thinking of making Mozilla.org an independent nonprofit as a
sort of liability insurance (since publically scrutable code is
subject to audits for patent violation).

Rick put it best just now when he explained that the industry
press has become fat and lazy on press releases. Now that the whole
Open Source thingummy is taking off, they have to take their news
where they find it (as opposed to waiting for it to come off the wire
from MicroSoft).

	What a load of swill.
