OK, this appears to have been a fun-filled computer geek night sponsored
and televised in partnership with Westdeutsche Rundfunk (WDR), one of three
state-sponsored television channels, by a consortium of computer clubs.
German TV is wacky, by the way.  Positively barmy.

HNF is Heinz Nixdorf Forum, which seems to be a convention center of some
form.  The text indicates that some rad-ass ISP gave them all the internet
connectivity they needed for it.
