I have the same material in _Winnie Ille Pu_ -- I think that those are
probably the same book with different titles.  Thank you for thinking of
it, though.

If I remember correctly, the absolutely delightful

	"Hodie heffalumpum vidi, o Pu."
	"Quid agebat?"
	"Heffalumpbat.  Eum me vidisse non puto."

appears in the heffalump chapter you mentioned.
