Doesn't sound stupid to me.  Since the stipulations only apply to
what is said (and also perhaps how things are said) I was going
to suggest adding some kind of non-verbal communication, such
as saying "blue" and then waving a hand or blinking or whatever.

I am suspicious that this is Seth's way of getting around his
quiet period so he can speak to his friends (or adversaries)
at Red Hat.
