For one example of how Microsoft is guilty of this kind of junk, check
out all the crap they've been spewing about Active Directory, and then
see what it really is: the Exchange directory merged with the NT4
domains it uses for authentication with a couple of minor new features
such as a database engine that sucks less and Kerberos hacked to do
something it's not supposed to do (authorization).
For other examples, examine the system requirements on any product
they've released this decade; they always forget to mention that the
requirements are for the installer, not the application itself.
