One of the things I hate about hte napster+fingerprinting is that it
makes it look like fingerprinting is a bad thing.
Fingering printing is pretty damn useful, especially since it lets you
identify things without having anything other than the metadata. It
would be extremely useful to have this on the client side of napster, as
lots of people comment badly or whatnot.
It's a shame that they are starting to get put in place only where
'filtering' is wanted.
Fingerprinting could kill CDDB if if were only done right. *sigh*
