A column that argues that AEBPR may be legal has gone up at eBookWeb
Is AEBPR a Legal Program?
Thanks to a little-known exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act,
suggests columnist Roger Sperberg, it may actually be legal to use tools
like ElcomSoft's Advanced eBook Processor to circumvent the copy protection
on eBooks -- at least in cases where the original eBook software or source
file is malfunctioning, damaged or obsolete.
