I would go for that. I too am a junkie but there is value in 
having this list focus on the immediate problem of freeing Dmitry 
while a free-sklyarov-discuss list can go after more general issues
pretty much exactly as you have suggested. 

I guess that is just a longwinded way to say ... me too.
