[Taocow PBEM] Chapter VI: Whence The Lizard Man?

Amanda nods her approval.

Phaeton looks somewhat bemused as Alex crawls into the bush, but is unable
to conceal herself properly.  He looks ready to say something, but decides
the better of it.

The rest of the team follow suit, and begin moving down the other side of
the hill.  Bongo, Alex and Kyle can see no sign of traps or ambushes.

The riders are now gaining on the company, and the odd "Yah!" or curse in
some familiar or unfamiliar language can be heard.  As they come within
Rod's range, the leader cries "Stop ye!  Go nay further!"

Quite suddenly, even as the leader raises his mighty gun, the horses stop as
if they've hit a brick wall.  The awful crack of bones can be heard as their
legs simply break.  Most of the riders, save for the leader, are torn from
their saddles by the force of impacting Rod's magical carpet and tossed to
the ground.

The leader curses, his pink, fleshy face now a rather awful red.  With speed
that amazes even the fastest of the company he whips out the rail gun and
begins spraying the company.

This nasty guy got an 18 to strike and hits five targets.  There are ten
targets, so I simply chose at random with a D10.  I'm giving dodges to those
that got hit (potentially):

Bongo, Amanda and Arden are all hit, and pretty badly.  They are blown off
their feet and knocked off the trail.  Phaeton and Rod manage to leap out of
the way.

The hideous man roars and brings his weapon to bear again, preparing to fire
again...
