[Taocow PBEM] Chapter XVIII - Into The Heart Of Darkness - The Army

OOC: This is Alex and Lady Frost's post.

[Lady Frost]
Lady Frost looks to Alex.  "Alright, let's get this show on the road."

She turns to the small army assembled.  "You heard your leader.  We've got
one job to do; make a lot of noise and keep the demon distracted while my
compatriots penetrate into that swamp and rescue your children!"

As Lady Frost and Alex lead on, the army follows them, heading southwest
along the road.  Above the winter sun comes out, warming the chill and
seeming to improve the morale of this impromptu army.  The Elves chat
amongst themselves in a language that neither Alex and Lady Frost can
understand.

After about two hours of walking through pastures and small stands of trees,
they come to a tall, earthen wall, which they are told is the defensive wall
and defacto western border of the Republic.

Beyond is an ominously quiet land with stands of tall, dark coniferous
trees and ancient ruins.  As they proceed westward, they come upon several
strange mounds, topped by pieces of white concrete, obviously pilfered from
the neighboring ruins.

This too ends as the road enters a thick forest.  The road seems to
disappear, splitting into numerous trails.

[Lady Frost]
Lady Frost looks to Alex.  "I think this is your department." she says.  "We
need to find the right path, and fast.  Do you need anyone with you?"
