Most of the rock formations in and around the canyon benefit from "heroic nomenclature", a practice attributed to geologist Clarence Dutton. I'm sure this one has such a name, but I have no idea what it is. Pick the name of your favorite Hindu or Norse god, and then stick "temple" or "throne" behind it. You won't be far off.
