For a minute, I'd thought our beloved Bernard had written this.

Still, I heard the news last night and it's fucking spooky.

Subject: Gates as Goldfinger

The weird vapors of the modern economy can hardly get any better than the
news that according to SEC filings, Bill Gates is suddenly the second
largest shareholder in Newport News Shipbuilding, the big builder of
atomic subs. Fevered nightmares of the Microsoft founder conspiring to
capture the browser market are pretty small change compared with the
possibility that the nerdy billionaire is in fact . . . Goldfinger, whose
custom-made fleet of nuclear-powered submarines will soon house obsessive
Gatesian minions plotting yet more evil monopolies from beneath the polar
ice caps, beyond the tentacles of the Clouseaus of competition, Joel Klein
and Mario Monti.

...from today's Wall Street Journal - really, no kidding !!
