OOC: Still missing a couple of player posts, but we'll carry on.
>>> Still lugging Osiris around, the red haired Coalition scout pulls
>>> off her helmet and shakes out sweat soaked red hair. She asks,
>>> "Is there an infirmary section where we can take our companion?"
>> "Aye, we do indeed, ma'am." says one of the crew, a young African
>> man with a thick Scottish brogue. Seeing that she is exhausted, he
>> lifts Osiris up out of Lyle and Alex's hands. When Osiris is safely
>> on a seat, he salutes Lyle. "The Captain sends her regards, Sir!
>> But where is Zandeeli, Sir Lyle?"
> He salutes the crewmember back. “Sir Zandeeli didn’t make it. A sad
> day this is.” He finishes loading and securing people into the
> hovercraft. He straps himself in and holds on as the craft rockets
> away from the slaver ship.
>> Within moments, everyone is escorted out of the crippled hovercraft
>> and into the hold, which is actually surprisingly small (no more
>> than about fifteen feet wide and twenty five feet long). Klaxons
>> are sounding as they make their way out of the hold and into the
>> narrow corridors that wend through the boat.
>> All of them are suddenly greeted by a rather shocking-looking
>> man-sized insectoid creature. "Ah, welcome back Ted and Owen, and
>> to you to Raven and Sir Lyle." the creature says in a cultured
>> English accent. "To the rest of you, let me introduce myself. I'm
>> Dr. Zazbrurr, ship's surgeon aboard the HMS Deapthbreaker. Don't
>> worry, I'm skilled in all manner of humanoid physiology. All of you
>> will be pleased to know that one of your fellow adventurers, a
>> young woman, is doing well. That is, if we make it through
>> simultaneous attack by Splugorth Minions and that dreadful
>> tentacled monster below."
> When they arrive in the sub, he sees Dr Z standing there. He shuffles
> by him and pats him on the back “Good to see you, Doc. Take good
> care of this bunch.” The starts to assemble the uninjured, Lyle
> starts to head to his quarters.
>> Dr. Zazbrurr immediately lays Osiris down. He turns his attention
>> away long enough to look at the others. "You all need rest." he
>> says. "I'm afraid that's going to have to wait. If any of you have
>> any serious injuries, say so now, or wait until after we get out of
>> this particular mess."
>> Anyone who doesn't speak up is quickly herded along by a couple of
>> stern officers. Even as they make their way through the narrow
>> corridors, the submarine is violently shaken. Lights temporarily
>> dim, then light up.
>> "Sir Lyle," one of the crewmen says, "I know you would like to be
>> at the weapons right now, but the Captain's orders are to remain
>> with the guests." With that they are lead into a small well-lit
>> cabin, with four bunks and three cots sitting in the middle of the
>> floor, leaving barely enough room to squeek around. The only
>> adjoining room is a very small bathroom with a toilet, sink and a
>> show barely big enough to move one's arms around in.
> “Ok, I can do that, but it would be better if I assist.” He replies
> and goes with the group to the smallish room.
> After the door closes, Lyle mumbles “That was weird.”
>> It's in these cramped quarters that the company spends the next two
>> hours. Loud metallic bangs and crunches, and the odd strangely
>> muffled blasts can be heard. Anyone with a weak stomach would
>> quickly find themselves with their heads in the small toilet. The
>> whole situation is frightening, maddening and uncomfortable all at
> He spends the next couple hours chatting with the people in the group
> and trying not to move too much. Takes off his jacket and tosses it
> in a corner.
> After being led down to the room, Koba is quiet trying to keep from
> being sick from the near constant rocking but failing. Only the lack
> of food for the past couple days has kept his stomach from emptying.
> When the boat comes to a rest, he will take the opportunity to
> finally remove the armor which he has been living in. Dusty, dirty,
> and with a few new burn marks, the armor did its job. As the rocking
> settles, Koba opens up the portable computer he carries and downloads
> the pictures and descriptions of the demons he has been encountering.
> Adding a new and previously unknown chapter to the compendium of
> demons he is composing. Even consulting his database for any hints on
> this curseor disease Ted has become inflicted with. Eventually, the
> compendium would benefit from a long interview with Talas is in order
> to add his experience. For now, just to be able to sit in quiet and
> relative safety is enough.
>> Then the door opens. One of the crew, a young woman, comes in. "The
>> Captain wishes to see you." she says flatly, her eyes looking
>> tired... and, a little creepy, like someone else is looking through
> When the midshipman arrives and announces the Captain wishes to see

> “Ok boys and girls, time to go see Captain Zalquain…”
> Alex puts her hand on her pistol, her nerves on alert suddenly. "What
> the hell is going on?"
> She will use her telepathy to read surface thought.
> ~Easy, Alex~, Ted projects telepathically to just the CS ranger. ~I
> think these people mean to help us.~
> The lizard man says to the newcomer, "Tell the captain we are on our
> Using telepathy in return, /No, she is mind controlled somehow/ After
> a few moment pause, Alex adds, /Check her mind yourself if you don't
> believe me./
> He turns around and looks at Alex "Calm down, your nerves are shot
> from being cooped up in here for a couple hours. No need to worry."
> /His surface thoughts ~Something is seriously wrong and has been
> since we got on, but be calm about it./
> ~I trust you.~ The lizard man turns to the woman. "Instruct the
> captain that we would prefer to meet with her here and will wait
> until she is available."
> Owen pulls his pistol and aim at the crewman. "Something is not right
> "Talas, I now know to trust your instinct. What do you think is going
> on here? These people have saved us from a much worse situation and
> now we have shown nothing but hostility." Directing his comments at
> the crewman, "I think we all would like to meet the Captain, but our
> nerves are a little high now."
"I don't think that will be possible." the woman says. She flings the
door shut and simply stands there. After a moment or two everyone hears
a strange hissing coming from an air vent in the wall, and barely
visible orange gas begins to come through. There is the faint smell of
"Don't worry." she says. "You will all be fine in a few minutes now.
Then you can meet the Captain."
