>>> "*Ahem*" says Veronique "I have some bad news, I've been
>>> instructed to take Lady Louissa into custody and return her to
>>> New Camelot"
>>> "Otherwise, investigating this wreck seems like a decent idea,
>>> maybe there are spare parts if nothing else".
>> Louissa, who is packing her equipment to go on this little
>> excursion, drops everything. "Put me into custody? How exactly? And
>> why? Alex gets a knighthood, and I get put in chains?"
> [Lady Veronique]
> "All I can tell you Milady is that both King Ar'Thuu and Myrrlyn were
> present when I received my orders to take you into custody, I didn't
> question them as I was preparing for my own departure and figured the
> situation would explain itself when I got here. As for how to contain
> you, I suppose that's something we'll have to discuss with Oz and The
> Captain. Honestly I expected more resistance from you when I arrived
> for some reason. When we return to New Camelot I'm sure the situation
> will be more closely explained."
> [/Lady Veronique]
> Oz shrugs, unsurprised. Louissa had been nothing but a source of
> trouble as long as he had been with the group. He nods at Veronique.
> "I'll have Ithdalkal coordinate with you, Lady Veronique. We can
> arrange a solid watch schedule for you." How Lady Veronique planned to
> transport Louissa back to New Avalon was another question, but one
> that shouldn't be discussed in front of the prisoner.
> He looked at Louissa, expression bland. "We will make you as
> comfortable as possible, given the tight quarters. You are a
> noblewoman, after all, Lady. I am sure no harm will come to you in New
> Avalon. It is possible the King simply wants you in a safer location,
> as you are the representative of a foreign power."
"In other words, I'll miss all the fun," Louissa grumbles.
> Alex is still confused why any person wants to make her a noble. She
> understand the term because there are a number of petty kingdoms in
> North America. Still, there are much larger concerns.
> The red headed scout just wants to cuddle a little and get a nap.
> While she knows she has skill in battle, it is not something she
> enjoys. Life is better just exploring.
> Instead, she takes a deep breath, "I would ask if you would please
> radio back to base and find out why Ms Louissa is under arrest. Even
> if it takes a bounce, we should be within range."
> A soldier must be loyal to those who she serves with. In battle, one
> does not serve for the nation often but those around her. Does not
> like the fact that Louissa is about to be arrested without any real
> reasons given. Idly, she wonders if she will not be fleeing to the
> NGR in a few days.
> Telepathically, she sends to Vesper / Sorry/
> Vesper thought back to Alex ~It's ok~
> "I agree, Louissa has been with us and she has done nothing criminal
> in the kingdom so this is a surprise. We need some reason to just
> turn a team mate over. A good reason."
> Telepathically, Alex sends back, /Probably something else will go
> wrong but maybe if we can get this resolved, we can find a quiet
> place for at least a little while./
> Vesper almost laughed about the statement of something else going
> wrong. He nodded slightly.
> ~I do enjoy when we are together and we don't have to share eachother
> with the rest of the world~ Vesper smiled softly.
> Oz nods. "We can have the radio room try to contact New Avalon to see
> if they can give us a reason." He gestures at Ithdalkal to have her
> relay the order to the ship's communications people.
> "I respect your loyalty to your friend. I even hope that loyalty may
> extend to me, given all that we have seen together. I know I would
> not turn my back on either of you, were you in need. That said, as a
> sworn knight and officer in New Camelot's forces, I cannot refuse an
> order from the King. If he orders that she needs to be returned to
> New Avalon, it is my duty to see it done to the best of my ability."
> Of course, he still didn't see a way to get Louissa to New Avalon
> short of turning the ship around, which was more than a little
> impractical. But that was a discussion for another time.
> Ted votes that Louissa stay with the company.
Two soldiers escort Louissa to her quarters. She gives Ted a despondent
look, before leaving the room.
Lenny shakes his head. "You'd better watch that one," he laughs. "She
looks like she'll bolt at the earliest opportunity!"
As the company prepares to head for the wrecked ship, communications
come back from New Camelot.
"It seems," Captain Neeson says, "that her exit from New Poughkeepsie
was, um, unplanned. She is the heir to the throne, and they want her
back in New Poughkeepsie as soon as possible. I'll make sure there's a
guard placed outside her quarters. It isn't arrest, precisely, simply
making sure she gets home in one piece. Though I don't know how we can
