Rudy Rucker's reading in the afternoon and Cory (my co-worker and a
science fiction writer who's about to publish a book set in
Disneyland) is reading in the evening. I'd like to attend both.

Rudy Rucker book reading

----> Event Description <-----------------------------------------------

Suffice to say that you must come and meet Rudy Rucker, author,
mathematician, computer scientist, professor, all-around nice guy, two-time
winner of the Phillip K. Dick award and one of the founding fathers of
cyberpunk. Rudy's newest novel is called SPACELAND. A hard-SF homage to
Edwin Abbot's FLATLAND, SPACELAND is about Joe Cube, a man employed by a
Silicon-Valley startup who brings home an experimental machine. His
marriage is shakier than he realizes, he's sort of a loose cannon himself,
and when he turns on the machine, a woman named Momo from the fourth
dimension promises to make him rich if he'll help her with a project. The
four-dimensional vision she gives him comes in handy at the blackjack tables
in Vegas, which Joe's wife likes a lot. Unfortunately, Joe's wife is also
starting an affair with another guy from the lab, and Momo's scheme turns
out to have angles they couldn't have imagined.
